Panel 1: We find John standing outside smiling as he notices that the snow is falling in great big flakes that are soft, wet and thus perfect for making snowballs.
Panel 2: As he makes a snowball, he tells himself that this is the sort of time when the kid in a person comes rushing out.
Panel 3: He then pelts a stop sign like the biggest, dumbest third grader ever.
Panel 4: A little while later, we find him slumped down in his armchair looking gutted. When Elly asks him what's wrong with him, he mopes that there's no one with his age to play with.
Summary: It doesn't take much work to bring out the dumb kid in John. What takes work is getting him to remember that his kids should also get to be kids.
