The one where Elly is too focused on a non-issue to listen to Doctor S's diagnosis.

(Original Publication Date, 27 November 1990)

Panel 1: We find ourselves at Elly's obstetrician's clinic today because she's lying down in an examination room probably fuming about her precious time being wasted. It would appear that she's about to get some test results back because Doctor S is all smiley and apologetic about keeping her waiting for so long.

Panel 2: As he puts a stethoscope to her belly, he says that everything looks and sounds okay.

Panel 3: He says that the baby is healthy and developing normally and asks her if she has any questions. She does.

Panel 4: Since he doesn't know her well at all, it comes as a surprise that she wants to know how long it's been since he had the ceiling painted.

Summary: Once again, we're reminded that Mike come by his habit of letting his mind drift to non-issues honestly. Her doctor was expecting questions like "Should the baby be kicking this hard this early?" or "Is it normal to gain an entire human being?" but instead, he's dealing with the tiny things that occupy tiny minds.
