Panel 1: Finally, Lynn's habit of cluttering up a a panel with sound effects comes in handy when it's used to indicate that for some reason, Liz has found the loose floorboard that makes an irritating squeaking noise when you step on it and, for some reason, finds it the most pleasurable thing ever.
Panel 2: We continue on with her in a state of near-orgiastic bliss as she dances on the Squeaky Floorboard Of It Looking Like She's Getting Off On The Noise.
Panel 3: She forgets that she has a mother who finds the merest whisper a deafening and oppresive Noise From HELL when she asks Elly to guess what she found.
Panel 4: When she says that she found that squeaky floorboard, the fact that Elly (who was typing a book review for work) looks as if she's been trodden on by an elephant tells us that she kind of knows already. Meanwhile, I'm asking why Liz would even do that knowing that Elly claps her hands to her ears in agony when a breeze stirs the curtains.
Summary: Elly doesn't know it but she is about to have far worse problems than a squeaky noise coming from the floorboards. That being said, the problem with blaming all of her future malaise on the Martian is that even if April didn't fool all of us, our gal El woulda found something to whine about.
