Who drew this strip? Both John and Elly have really weird arms. Skinny and misshapen for the first three panels, then in panel 4, Elly is suddenly back to a normal proportion.

Other than that, not much to comment on visually. A bit like Boondocks, a strip whose visuals confuzzle me: Aaron McGruder is capable of such fine detail, and yet never has his characters do anything besides sit and stand in front of muted backgrounds.

As far as the dialogue, though, can someone tell me what John's getting himself into here? I've owned the same POS for the past ten years, so I have no clue how buying a car outright is more practical than trading it in. All I have to go on is the fact that in the last panel, Elly doesn't look overjoyed.
