Panel 2: Ah, jeez. They just have to keep piling on.
Panel 3: Okay, apparently it's not about lipsynching. But it will be a horrible, frustrating, clusterfrack fall from grace. And Becky will cry/get angry/pout, which will make her a terrible person (unlike April, who wailed and sprayed tears when her guitar string broke). But of course April will be there to pick up the pieces.
Panel 4: Okay, one bad performance due to technical difficulties. But if Becky already has a good rep, and with two CDs and multiple TV appearances, she should, that's not the end of the world. Doesn't mean she CAN'T play or sing. Unless people paid money to be here, the only real damage is to her dream of earning the approval of her classmates. Not that it'll be presented that way, of course. Instead, everyone will hate Becky, and she'll be seen as a no-talent prima donna. Except by April.
Panel 5: That's about as blatantly as it's ever been spelled out. I mean, it can't just be a bad night (and word to the poster who pointed out the necessity of a sound check). It has to be Becky's chickens coming home to roost. Shame on her for not being satisfied just having "fun." Shame on her for wanting to make something of herself. And, of course, shame on her for crossing a Patterson.
And I just now noticed -- April has Deanna lips! And is Phil smirking? He doesn't even know Becky!
