Today's Halloween strip is a reminder that Elly's ungrateful asshole son only notices what she does when she's too busy to actually do it.

Panel 1: It appears that Elly is making some sort of outfit for Liz because she's got pins in her mouth and she's measuring Liz's waist line.

Panel 2: Elly then starts to cut into some sort of green fabric.

Panel 3: Liz raises her arm as Elly takes another set of measurements.

Panel 4: Liz looks on in anticipation as Elly sews whatever garment she's making her together.

Panel 5: Liz smiles at someone to her left as she tries on the dinosaur/dragon costume Elly made her for Halloween.

Panel 6: Liz looks in a mirror to see how it all looks as Elly fits the head of the costume onto the body.

Panel 7: Liz invites John and Mike to look at the ever neat costume Mom made for her and they're suitably impressed.

Panel 8: John tells Mike that it's amazing and that he doesn't know how Elly does it but it only takes her a few hours to create a neat costume like that. Had the strip cut off right here, I would have no problem with it but Lynn likes put-downs and making Elly into a punching bag so we end up with an extra panel only horrible people like.

Panel 9: This is because Lynn thinks that petty meanness is funny so Elly glowers in rage when Mike makes an asshole remark about how it takes her six months to do the mending. Since he's a stupid creep who thinks that the Sun shines out of his butthole, he ascribes having better things to do than to patch trousers to laziness.

Summary: Gee, Mike, I don't know what could be distracting her from that. It's not as if she doesn't have her hands full trying to raise the stupidest asshole son on the face of the Earth or anything.
