Again, a mildly upsetting joke is made about not confusing or upsetting a poor old lady in the death-spiral phase of dementia.

(Strip Number , Original Publication Date, 5 August 1989)

Panel 1: Nigel reminds his mother that he and Agnes are moving into an apartment while she's being moved to a nice home. Since Mother needs urgent care, her asking "I am?" distresses me.

Panel 2: Nigel then tells Phil that his mother doesn't understand what's going on around her and thinks she's back in Alberta. She even goes out to feed chickens that died decades ago.

Panel 3: When Phil asks if his group can see downstairs, Nigel doesn't mind one bit.

Panel 4: As we see the three of them all aghast because Mother has stacked the basement full of empty egg cartons, Nigel warns them of this after the fact.

Summary: It really doesn't sit well with me that Lynn finds it mildly amusing that a poor old lady thinks that she's somewhere she ain't been in years. You'd have to be a creep to find THIS cute.
