(Original Version: Strip 5160, Original Date, 25 July 1989)
Panel 1: Elly tells Georgia that she knows what she's going through because she and John had a hard time finding the Pattermanse. The fact that this contradicts the backstory about Connie finding it for them is immaterial because history changes on a dime in the service of a joke.
Panel 2: She then gets all graceless and junk when she tells Georgia that they searched for ages and found it hard to afford the ninety seven thousand they ended up paying for it. Again, history changes because back in 1989, they paid twenty seven thousand.
Panel 3: Instead of rebuking her for lacking class, Georgia asks if she heard the amount right. Elly confirms this.
Panel 4: Whoever's doing the rewrite has made Georgia's reaction make more sense by stating that today, ninety-seven keys is the down payment by removing the phrase 'not even' from her sentence. Either way, Elly's reaction is to be gobsmacked.
Summary: We get a sort of echo next Monday when Elly gets all smug about how the place is paid for when Mike complains about what they don't have.
