(Strip Number 1465, Original Publication Date, 20 June 1989)
Panel 1: We continue on with the play-by-play of Liz's birth with a visual meant to represent her arrival into this world and a caption by Elly explaining that she did so at seven forty-five in the morning.
Panel 2: As we return to the present day, she goes on to state that John cut the umbilical cord, the nurse wrapped Elizabeth up and the two of them just stood there staring at her (most likely in goofy idiot glee). Liz marvels at this.
Panel 3: Elly then gets all misty-eyed and soppy about how Elizabeth had the most incredible little face.
Panel 4: When Michael behaves like himself and likens Liz's newborn self to a turnip with a brush cut, Elly is less than thrilled. This probably means that he's going to get a gentle, not at all physically aggressive reminder of his duty to his family.
Summary: Mike never seems to have quite figured out or been especially willing to entertain the possibility that Elizabeth did not ask to get born either. Doing so would make him not the victim of a cruel plot to ruin him but instead a boring jackass who can't get over his stupid self. In this, he proves himself to be Elly's son because she's filled with the same bullshit.
