Panel 1: ...

So I guess what we saw last week was an awkward but touching courtship. Hey, I wish them all the happiness in the world. After all, Liz spent so much time in Mtig with absolutely no male companionship, of course she's eager to love again. And last year, Granthony hid his feelings for Liz like a true gentleman, so naturally this all comes as a surprise to both of them. I'm sure they'll work it out, to the benefit of all, in a way that hurts no one.

So here's Phil. And from this, I get that Jim is conscious, even if not talking. I understand this is hard for you to deal with, Phil, but be honest: when's the last time your dad saw you before the stroke?

Panel 2: Is this panel even necessary? Unless there's some symbolism in both of them walking away.

Panel 3: Exactly. But, uh, Elly, why couldn't you have forgone one of your eighty-two trips to Mexico and instead visited your brother and sister-in-law for a week?

Panel 4: Oh, that's sad. Phil was so handsome when he was young. Well, not drop-dead gorgeous, but vibrant and healthy. Whatever affects Pattersons and sucks the life out of them has sure gotten to him.

Panel 5: STFU, Elly. Who's "we", anyway? Does it include Liz, by any chance?
