(Strip Number 1462, Original Publication Date, 16 June 1989)
Panel 1: We continue on with Mike telling Elly that he remembers when Dad drove her to the hospital to give birth and he had to stay with Grandma Carrie.
Panel 2: When we go back into black and white mode, we find Carrie telling Dainty Doll Boy Mike to wave goodbye to Mommy after the car drives off.
Panel 3: Since she doesn't have to go through it any more and thus has sprayed a gloss of sentiment over what hurt like Hell when it was actually happening, she feeds Mike bullshit about how there's nothing more exciting or wonderful than bringing a new life into the world.
Panel 4: We switch focus to the car where we see the woman about to shove something howling out of an aperture it's wider than telling herself something she doesn't know will become an inoperative statement in twenty-two months time as she thought-bubbles that she's never going to go through THIS again.
Summary: If there are any notes, it's a crap-shoot if we're going to hear how long and painful it was giving birth or if we're going to get "If she knew then what she knows now."
