When Elly gushes overly much about how great it was when Liz was a passive little doll child, the present day version asks her poor mother a horrible question as regards how she likes the version of her with a personality and a reasonable level of autonomy.

(Strip Number 1459, Original Publication Date, 13 June 1989)

Panel 1: As they continue to look at the album, Elizabeth asks Elly if she was a cute baby. Elly replies that she was the cutest.

Panel 2: She gushes about how she and John couldn't get enough of her because she was the sweetest baby with the biggest eyes and the roundest little body.

Panel 3: Since Liz has something called a memory, she asks Elly a question. Elly wishes to know what it is.

Panel 4: When said question is "Do you still like me now?", Elly is stunned into silence.

Summary: The answer is the same one Elly offers when talking about Mike: she loves her child but she doesn't like her very much because for some weird reason, Liz hides things from her and tends not to trust her.
