At the ski hill, Elly finds a mildly comical solution to her ongoing struggle with balancing herself in slippery conditions. This somehow humiliates Michael.

(Strip Number 7267, Original Publication Date, 12 March 1989)

Panel 1: We find ourselves at a sporting goods shop watching Elly about to buy a ski outfit.

Panel 2: When Michael tells her not to do so because she cannot ski that well, she is gobsmacked.

Panel 3: The strip proper begins with a nervous-looking Elly about to join the rest of the family skiing.

Panel 4: Having noticed that Elly's got herself tangled in herself, I think Mike might be right about her prowess.

Panel 5: Looking at her staring up at the skies cursing to herself because she's fallen on her backside kind of makes me think he's actually understated things.

Panel 6: Watching her pretty much uproot a small tree trying to anchor herself kind of makes me think she should be in the ski lodge being glad it's not her breaking her neck out there.

Panel 7: It looks like she's about to do just that because she takes her skis off.

Panel 8: When she instead sleds down the hill while using them as an impromptu toboggan with a big, goofy smile on her face, John and Liz are confused while Mike is tripping because he got embarrassed.

Summary: This is kind of cute, really. I sort of admire her for coming up with a solution to her problem with wobbly legs that have problems with slick surfaces.
