(Strip Number 5095, Original Publication Date, 6 March 1989)
Panel 1: We find Elizabeth at a local convenience store as the cashier rings in a carton of milk.
Panel 2: Since she has money left over, Liz looks at the candy counter and asks for two sourballs, a box of Nerds, a red licorice, three jawbreakers and a jelly hat.
Panel 3: She bounds out of the store with a smile on her face when she sort of plagiarizes Sparky and thought-bubbles that happiness is getting to keep the change.
Summary: While it looks as if Liz only got that nasty-ass lecture from John and Elly next Wednesday for lying and violating a trust that should never have been imposed upon her in the first place, I have faith in them. They'd act as if she yelled "Hail Hydra!" if all that happened was her buying candy with the change because they're thin-skinned people who expect kids to read their alleged minds.
