Panel 1: Elly marvels at the amount of light the new glass addition brings into the house.
Panel 2: Elly then says that what they need now are venetian blinds and large shrubbery.
Panel 3: A baffled John asks her why she wants large shrubbery to cover the window when they spent a lot of money to be able to look out of it. Elly states that she knows this.
Panel 4: When Elly does the stupid palms-out pleading thing to remind John that what she's about to say should be common knowledge before stating in all seriousness that they don't want anyone looking in, John is really confused.
Summary: There is actually a practical reason one might wish to cover a southern-facing window in Summer: adding in some shade cools the place down. This will not, of course, be the reason given. The given reason will be that We Moms want to be seen at our best or something similar.
