Watch FBorFW Animated Specials in Dutch!

We’re very excited to announce that KidHit.tv has dubbed Lynn’s animated specials into Dutch!

Known as Familie Petterse in the Netherlands, the Pattersons appear in five of our popular animated specials – now, for the first time, in Nederlands!

We will talk about it more after the cut.

Familie Petterse

Google translates this to:

The Canadian family Petterse is an everyday but also a very special family. Father John and Mother Elly Petterse have 3 children; Mike, Lizzy and April. They also have the dog Farley. They must overcome all kinds of obstacles to be able to enjoy family. For example, they go camping with the sea with the necessary obstacles, Mike is hopelessly in love, there's a real Baby magnet, a run-away Christmas angel, and so on Valentine's Day. In short, everyday things she loves.

I love the way Babe Magnet translates to Baby Magnet. They go with Macho Mike below and that is not a bad fit.

They have 5 episodes:

Familie Petterse - 1 Nooit meer kampereren
Familie Petterse - 2 Macho Mike
Familie Petterse - 3 Nietsnut Farley
Familie Petterse - 4 Valentijnsdag
Familie Petterse - 5 De kerst engel

In English those are titled as:

1. The Last Camping Trip
2. The Babe Magnet
3. The Good for Nothing
4. A Valentine From the Heart
5. A Christmas Angel

Personally I think this is a great move for Katie. Lynn has long told us with pride that her tendency to use wordplay as the punchline of her comic strips made them untranslatable for the non-English-speaking audience. With the animated specials, you don't have that problem at all. Redubbing the animation is relatively inexpensive. This seems to me to be an excellent way to go. Lynn has a number of animated features and animation lends itself to dubbing. Katie could open up Lynn's characters to markets that Lynn never explored and all for a limited expense.
