(Strip Number 4993, Original Publication Date, 7 July 1988)
Panel 1: As Mike talks about how the spider is crawling around, Gord sets the timer. Since they're fixated on this and also since Lynn likes to think of the strip as a sitcom, it's sort of obvious that they're going to be interrupted by someone or something that they don't anticipate but should have.
Panel 2: Elly wears the "You REALLY should have seen me coming" hat when she surprises them all by asking what they're up to. Judging from the dumb look on his stupid face and his blurting out "UH??!!", Mike is flat out shocked but slightly smarter Gordon recovers more quickly, grabs onto the microwave and says "Nothin'!!"
Panel 3: Having that he's taken an odd interest in her microwave, Elly's disembodied head asks him if there's something wrong with it. Mike and Lizzie get all apprehensive looking when he says no and asks why.
Panel 4: When she says something about inviting him to dinner when she puts a dish of Cheapie Weenie Casserole into the microwave in a manner that would invite angry yowling from Lynn that would probably go "How can you care that Elly is going to drop dinner all over the floor holding it like that when children are starving in Bongoswana" if people pointed out that she's about to spill it all over the basement floor holding it the way she does, anticipating her violent reaction to spider-gone-asplodey-all-over-supper makes them all goggle-eyed with terror.
Summary: We transition from them being horrified to her being horrified tomorrow when Lizzie reminds us that she'd gleefully turn Mike over to the Gestapo for watching Hogan's Heroes if they gave her candy.
