(Strip Number 1307, Original Publication Date, 27 June 1988)
Panel 1: As John continues to rework the kitchen, Elly surprises him by suggesting that now that he's got the kitchen apart, he can also extend the dining room.
Panel 2: Since he's a bad man who tells evil lies about cost and pre-ordering things, he reacts to her talking about how easy it would be to put in a sun room with something approaching pants-soiling dread.
Panel 3: When Elly tells him that it would be really easy to knock down the brick wall that's there now, he tells her that he'll get right on it.
Panel 4: When he says that he'll do so by banging his head against it, Elly gives him a funny look.
Summary: It's at the "knocking down a brick wall is EASY" part that Elly and Lynn lost my sympathy. Unlike the real and fictional her, I know how hard it is to do all the crap that either version of her can stand around and watch all day. I also know that tomorrow's strip is also in the key of "Lynn hasn't the least fucking clue how hard this is but we're supposed to ignore that and be totally sympathetic to her viewpoint." I can get behind that but I will do no more "Elly is a fucking martyr because she can't tolerate leftovers" forever.
