(Strip Number 4979, Original Publication Date, 3 June 1988)
Panel 1: Having driven Ed back to the Senior's complex, Elly invites him over to dinner next weekend. He says that that'll be nice.
Panel 2: Reason: while the lodge is a great place to live, there's nothing like a home-cooked meal.
Panel 3: She warns him that her cooking might not be the best in the world.
Panel 4: That's fine by him because he's coming for the 'home' part.
Summary: Since he never does show up after today, it looks to the people reading the strip as if he just upped and died off camera while Elly was complaining about her crappy kitchen. Ah, well. Lynn wouldn't be Lynn if she thought about the broader implications of banishing people to the cornfield.
