When Elly barges in and starts screaming about the noise, the kids come to a conclusion that's supposed to prove the children love chaos and hate their mothers but instead proves something else.

(Strip Number 1286, Original Publication Date, 29 April 1988)

Panel 1: About five seconds after the curfew she'd imposed on them without their knowledge, Elly barges down into the rec room and bellows at the boys to stop the mother-hating noise they're making at once.

Panel 2: She then threatens Mike and his guests with a dire punishment if she hears one more pillow fight.

Panel 3: Mike tells the others that they know what that means. Brian knows what it means as well.

Panel 4: What it means to them is that they get one more pillow fight since they'd probably do some other thing to anger the self-pitying numbskull we're asked to pity and get yelled at anyway.

Summary: This goes a long way to proving howtheduck's suspicion that Lynn has neither participated in or hosted a real sleeppver. We will get further confirmation next week when we get demented wailing about how lying evil children say that one does not actually sleep at one.
