Lawrence subverts Mike's attempt to mock him by pointing out that he comes for sleepovers armed for battle.

(Strip Number 1285, Original Publication Date, 28 April 1988)

Panel 1: As the kids bed down for the night, Lawrence is way too enthusiastic about how fun being yelled at by Elly for not being sound asleep five seconds after curfew is going to be.

Panel 2: Having noticed that he unpacked a pillow, Mike wants to get a head start on mocking him for years on end about carrying a security pillow.

Panel 3: When told that it's not a security pillow, Mike asks Lawrence what it IS for.

Panel 4: Lawrence says 'self-defense' and demonstrates his point by walloping Mike on the back of his stupid head.

Summary: This harmless bit of rough-housing is going to bring an immediate angry response from someone who probably never participated in a sleep-over. It's also going to remind us of another of Elly's mental lapses.
