(Strip Number 1277, Original Publication Date, 13 April 1988)
Panel 1: As Molly kisses Dirk good night when he leaves, we overhear Connie fretting to Elly about how she had hoped that Molly would date a nice, ordinary guy.
Panel 2: Elly assumes that he's probably a nice kid and Molly's not stupid so she should not worry so much and let the relationship take its course.
Panel 3: Connie explains why she's worried really by saying that he's got a car.
Panel 4: Elly agrres now that it's time to worry.
Summary: This is the clearest indication we have that Lynn was forced by an external influence (pronounced "TOM-john-ston") to abandon a planned teen pregnancy arc. Also, to those who might think that MOLLY is the focus of concern, we have to remember Connie's treating Lawrence like a shit-heel she's forced to tolerate when understanding the Poirier-Thomas family dynamics. The arc would have been all about how Connie would have been disgraced by having to take care of ugly grandbabies.
