Panel 1: As she gets Lizzie ready for bed, Elly tries to get her child to put her tooth under the bed. As howtheduck says, she fails by not being sufficiently forceful.
Panel 2: Appeasenik Elly continues to drop the ball by reminding an unconcerned Lizzie that if she hides her tooth, the Tooth Fairy won't be able to find it.
Panel 3: Elly sets up the punchline by reminding Lizzie that if she hid it somewhere else, the Tooth Fairy would have to look all over her room and then wondering if Lizzie wants to slow her down. It turns out that Lizzie DOES.
Panel 4: When Lizzie asks "How else am I going to see what she looks like?", Elly is flabbergasted because she sees no way out of the dilemma her sudden wispiness has created.
Summary: When it really counts, we can always count on Elly to get all wishy-washy and gutless. When it doesn't.....KABOOM!!!! The problem is that she tends to think horrible things about children that could have been not thought if she were in possession of a brain and a spine.
