St Patrick's Day 2017

Lizzie's attempt to somehow protect her tooth for the Tooth Fairy backfires on her horribly.

(Strip Number 1266, Original Publication Date, 17 March 1988)

Panel 1: John holds up an empty box of Kleenex and asks Lizzie what happened to it only to have her tell him that she wrapped her tooth in dem.

Panel 2: When he tells her that she didn't need a whole box, she says that she wanted it to be safe.

Panel 3: He sets up the punchline by telling her to unwrap it and find another way to keep it safe.

Panel 4: This, of course, leads her to bursting into panicky tears because she cannot find her toof.

Summary: Since the Pattersons aren't nice or forgiving people, it's likely (if not certain) that the big mope thinks that she did this on purpose to cause an uproar. We tag in his fellow sufferer of that self-defeating illusion tomorrow when we remind ourselves that Elly thinks that Lizzie is faking that she believes in the tooth fairy to destroy her mother.
