We remind ourselves of the real reason that Elly doesn't like being at any sort of sporting venue when John and the kids are forced to take turns compensating for her lack of any sort of aptitude at skating.

(Strip Number 7255, Original Publication Date, 21 February 1988)

Panel 1: We find the family driving up to the local skating rink for a pleasant day skating.

Panel 2: As they walk to the arena, Michael takes point.

Panel 3: The family laces up their skates.

Panel 4: Since Lizzie took off her jacket and mitts, Elly puts her mittens back on for her.

Panel 5: She then zips up her jacket.

Panel 6: The family takes to the ice.

Panel 7: A little while later, an out of breath Mike tells John that if he'd mind taking his turn holding 'her' up since he and the other person holding the first person up are tired.

Panel 8: An astonished John is astonished because instead of Mike and Elly holding up an unsteady Lizzie like he'd probably expected, Michael and Lizzie are holding up a terrified Elly.

Summary: We can expect babbling and shrieking about evil family members who enjoy something that she sucks at again and how if they loved her, they'd agree to give up something they like so she won't feel as if she's a hindrance.
