Christmas Eve 2016

In today's greeting-card worthy strip, Lizzie wishes that all children could have the same white people problems they do on Christmas Eve night.

(Strip Number 4906, Original Publication Date, 24 December 1987)

Panel 1: It's Christmas Eve night and we find Mike and Lizzie staring out the upstairs window. He tells her that he can't stand waiting for Christmas morning because he gets excited and he can't sleep.

Panel 2: The time passes much too slowly and he tosses and turns. He can't stand it and Lizzie agrees that it's awful.

Panel 3: We pause as they stew in their anticipation of getting more crap to try to fill the holes in their soul.

Panel 4: Lizzie turns and says that she wishes every kid in the world could feel like this.

Summary: You and me both, kiddo. The problem is that there ain't a Hell of a lot a kid and a shmuck who blogs about a comic strip can do but put coins in a UNICEF box and pretend we're helping. Let he or she who denies this (I'm looking at you, Valerie from Stone Soup) fall into the latrine.
