Although Lynn believes him to be in the wrong, Gordon is onto something when he compares that surly grouch Mr Warren to a caged predator targeting the weak.

(Strip Number 4886, Original Publication Date, 11 November 1987)

Panel 1: Mike is in fight or flight mode because he's realized to his chagrin that they're late for home room.

Panel 2: Gordon counsels him to not draw attention to himself and ease into class slowly so as to avoid detection. Michael states that he cannot.

Panel 3: Gordon insists on this because in his experience, the angry timeservers that the school board hires are akin to wild animals.

Panel 4: Reason: they only attack when they smell fear.

Summary: We know that from last year when that snippy, strident failure Miss Blais declared right of vengeance on Lizzie for a pants-on-head stupid reason. Tomorrow, we begin Mr Warren's death spiral as he makes a point of singling out Mike for castigation only to eventually end up pathetically grateful that he doesn't have to spend an evening with the children he fears and hates. How children are supposed to learn things from worthless idiots like this is something I cannot figure out.
