Panel 1: We start things off with Elly trying to smile broadly only to end up looking as if she's about to ask us "Why so serious?"
Panel 2: She makes the face she makes when someone tells her something she doesn't feel like hearing.
Panel 3: It so happens that she's reading a book about facial exercises so she can firm up her face.
Panel 4: She makes the face she makes when her kids do something she doesn't expect them to.
Panel 5: Next, she mimes sucking on a lemon.
Panel 6: She next tries to dislocate her lower jaw.
Panel 7: It so happens that Elly's facial exercises have caught the attention of Mike and Lawrence.
Panel 8: They both shrug because they don't quite know what she's doing making the face she's making.
Panel 9: Since he mistakenly believes that she's reacting to what she's reading, Mike tells Lawrence "I don't know what she's reading, but I want that book when she's through with it!"
Summary: Given her need to reassure herself that people didn't really mean it when they reassured her, it seems clear that one of the kids is in for a scraping because he was lying about saying she didn't look a million years old.
