(Strip Number 1203, Original Publication Date, 19 September 1987)
Panel 1: As she drives home, Elly wonders how she could have let Mrs B talk her into playing a dumb game like bingo.
Panel 2: She feels like an idiot because she spent an evening putting plastic chips on little squares like a monkey.
Panel 3: How, she asks, could people actually enjoy a ridiculous thing like wasting their lives in a smoky old church basement playing bingo?
Panel 4: We start to see her true motives when she laments the fact that since the caller did not call out B-9, she did not win the jackpot.
Summary: If the strip had gone on long enough, Elly would have insisted on making sports 'fair' by making sure that everyone won and no one kept score so she didn't have to feel bad about sheer bad luck. As it stands, she calls anything she's not immediately good at dumb and something she hates. She then turns around and lectures Mike about how he judges things too quickly without even trying them.
