(Strip Number 4862, Original Publication Date, 18 September 1987)
Panel 1: Thelma looks as giddy as a school-girl when she tells Elly that it's wonderful having a crush on a man after all these years.
Panel 2: She describes his gesture of playfully poking her with his cane as sending an electric current through her body.
Panel 3: She feels the same rush and intrigue and excitement she felt when she was twenty.
Panel 4: As Elly smiles for her, she delights in how nice it is that some things don't change.
Summary: Again, this is slightly before the era of Golden Girls; the fear was that once you hit fifty-five, the fire would gutter out and die. Of course, given the strip's premise (Children are awful, evil creatures who take and take and take and hate to give because they were born to love chaos and hate their poooooor mother), the idea is that it could take until well after the parasites have parasites of their own for the fuel reserves to get topped up again.
