Thelma tells Elly about the man who makes adapting to the seniors' complex a lot easier.

(Strip Number 4861, Original Publication Date, 17 September 1987)

Panel 1: When the two of them sit down for tea, Elly asks Thelma if she's enjoying the nursing home. Thelma grudgingly says she's adapting to the loss of her independence.

Panel 2: She brightens and says that she has a confession to make: it's not ALL gloom, doom and waiting for Masky McDeath because there's a gentleman there who really strikes her fancy.

Panel 3: It would seem that they've been sharing a table for the last little while. She starts to describe how looking into his eyes makes her feel.

Panel 4: Her blurting out "KA-POWIE!!!!" tends to suggest that she is rather attracted to this man.

Summary: The interesting thing is that this is just about when Golden Girls had started to air; before this, the media men allowed for grey-bearded old men to have the urge but insisted that after menopause, that desire went away. This is bullshit that Annie will be shown to ascribe to.
