Panel 1: As she gets the kids ready for school, she tells Mike that the lunch bag with Snoopy on it he's grabbed onto is Lizzie and that his is in the fridge.
Panel 2: She then tells them that a Mrs Scott will drive them to the Y because she has a meeting and can't pick them up.
Panel 3: As they head to the bus stop, she tells them that Daddy's clinics hours are now longer and he'll be home later. That means that whoever's home first has to get the key from Mrs Nichols and walk Farley.
Panel 4: As she contemplates a happy day free from the horrible children who drain her substance, Elly breathes a sigh of relief as she marvels that it's September and her life is back to normal.
Summary: We get an echo of this next March when she exults in the fact that the return of warmer weather means the end of having to have people to pick up after and referee and all the other stuff she hates. Eventually, she will wonder where all the magic time she was promised went and sort of blame them for making her intolerant.
