(Strip Number 7224, Original Publication Date, 19 July 1987)
Panel 1: We find ourselves watching Lizzie in her swimsuit as she climbs up the steps to the diving board at the community pool.
Panel 2: She's now on the diving board.
Panel 3: She looks down into the pool.
Panel 4: Since she's higher up than she wants to be, she shudders in horror as she walks away from the edge.
Panel 5: She looks back down into the water.
Panel 6: She crouches down while still shuddering.
Panel 7: Her attempt to calm herself seems to involve obviating the problem of looking down into the water; this is to be accomplished by somehow diving off the BOTTOM of the board.
Panel 8: Since she's still far higher up than she wants to be, she still shudders in terror despite not being able to look down into the water.
Panel 9: She lets go and hits the water with a mighty splash.
Panel 10: She then walks up to Mike and Gordon and tells them that she told them she could go on the diving board.
Summary: This is sort of akin to how she'd later describe herself as a take charge person; she's afraid of a lot of things but the thing she's most afraid of is being called afraid.
