(Strip Number 1145, Original Publication Date, 25 April 1987)
Panel 1: We find ourselves at the salon watching the esthetician tell Lizzie that she needs to sit still as the process of piercing her ears might sting just a bit.
Panel 2: She then does the other ear.
Panel 3: The esthetician marvels because Lizzie got her ears pierced and didn't even cry.
Panel 4: She's mildly confused when Elly bursts into tears.
Summary: We'll see why Elly is filled with sorrow and loss in a week's time when evil John evilly tries to point out that no, Lizzie isn't maturing too rapidly no matter what's in her ears or on her legs or face. Heh. If anything, Lizzie is far younger than her peers and always will be. Also, Lizzie will cry soon enough when Elly once again forgets that children can feel pain.
