Panel 1: Having finally realized that perhaps dealing with this Paula child is something of a concern, Elly admits that getting her ears pierced means a lot to Lizzie.
Panel 2: If this concession is to be made, Lizzie will have to look after them. Lizzie promises to do so because she doesn't realize that it means that Elly will apply the same sort of force to her sensitive ears that she does to her scalp.
Panel 3: Lizzie is pleased when Elly allows this thing to happen.
Panel 4: A bleary-eyed Elly thinks that she must have holes in her head.
Summary: Perhaps she does....but doing something nice for the kids despite that not being in her comfort zone is starting them to heal up.
