(Strip Number 6699, Original Publication Date, 5 April 1987)
Panel 1: As Mike gets ready to head to the bus stop for the morning, Elly looks out the front door.
Panel 2: What she's looking at is drenching Spring rain.
Panel 3: As Mike starts to head out the door, she warns him to dress for the drenching rain by putting on his galoshes.
Panel 4: Since he'd rather get soaked to the bone than get razzed by the guys for being a sissy, Mike claims that nobody wears rubber boots.
Panel 5: She repeats the process by offering him an umbrella to keep him dry.
Panel 6: He angers Elly by NOT wanting to take her DUMB umbrella because nobody takes one.
Panel 7: He slams the door in rage because Elly wants him to be dry and comfortable.
Panel 8: We find the stupid little twit soaked and miserable surrounded by nobodies who have the sense to dress for inclement weather and carry umbrellas.
Summary: Given who he is, it will somehow be Elly's fault that he's soaked and miserable because the alternative is admitting that he's a stubborn, defiant fool who lacks gratitude.
