Panel 1: Ah, NOW we get to see it from Liz's POV! But all this rewinding is getting on my nerves. I think I've said before, it would have been better in the long run if either Liz or Mike* had faded from the scene, like Annie, or Phil and Georgia, making only occasional appearances on holidays.
Anyway. Liz looks like she's pouting. And so it's true that she misses Mtig! But that's probably all she misses: the larger apartment, and the fact that it came with the job. And judging by the clothes draped over the chair next to the unmade bed, it appears that she's still a slob. (No offense to anyone reading this; just that you'd think that pious "I put a lot of trust in faith" Liz would be tidy.)
Panel 2: Shiimsa is smirking. Wonder why? And why is she "hardly ever 'home'"? And it kills me that she puts "home" in "quotes". Because only Elly's house is "home", right? Grow UP, woman!
Panel 3: What weird feet. And Shiimsa is reading for another keyboard dive, looks like. And if it's walking distance, then does she really need a car?
Panel 4: Bingo!
Panel 5: Well, at least she didn't trip out this time. http://www.fborfw.com/strip_fix/archives/000804.php But where is the delete key on this keyboard? I know where mine is, and Shiimsa wouldn't be anywhere near it in that position. And maybe she does this because Liz never pays attention to her unless she needs to talk about life and love being complicated? And what a giant mushroom butt.
*depending on whether you're more interested in a story about a family, or about a young woman on her own. Personally, I would prefer the latter. But not BOTH, is my point.
