Elly uses a lecture she'd later use on Chin-nuts when she tells Phil that he doesn't really have the right to artificially shorten his life span just because he has the wedding jitters.

(Strip Number 1110, Original Publication Date, 23 January 1987)

Panel 1: Elly asks Phil when he started smoking again. He says it's been a few weeks.

Panel 2: He says that things are crazy and he needs something to help him to relax.

Panel 3: As he cleans his trumpet, he asks why she is so judgmental of his life.

Panel 4: Elly just wants it to be a long one.

Summary: Lynn likes this sort of passive-aggressive stuff when dealing with recalcitrant smokers. It's what she wishes that they listened to before they started dying of cancer.
