We return to the wedding preparation story arc with Phil expressing a reluctance to get married and, as he puts it, go down in flames.

(Strip Number 1107, Original Publication Date, 19 January 1987)

Panel 1: We find ourselves in the kitchen with Phil and Elly. As she pours coffee, she tells Phil that Connie and Greg eloped a few days ago. He isn't dealing with it well.

Panel 2: He adopts Standard Melodramatic Overreaction To Trivia Posture Seven as he wails that he doesn't know anyone single any longer and that everyone is going down in flames.

Panel 3: Elly picks up on his dramatizing and wonders what his deal is because the last she knew, he was looking forward to being married.

Panel 4: He says that some of him is looking forward to being married but the most of him is holding him back.

Summary: The part that is holding him back is the part called the spoiled brat who selfishly refuses to do what other people tell him to do. That being said, I should that ALL of Alan Ridgway resented having his private business made fodder for his older sister's comic strip and having his motives interpreted in this manner.
