Evil, Conflict-Causing Lawrence expresses his reluctance to be told to forget his past by holding on to his birth name.

(Strip Number 4742, Original Publication Date, 8 January 1987)

Panel 1: As Greg and John's silhouettes speak about important things like the NHL, Elly asks Connie how Lawrence has adjusted to the new order.

Panel 2: Connie says that the battle does not go well; Lawrence likes Greg but doesn't want to share her.

Panel 3: Greg would like to adopt Lawrence but Lawrence has refused the gesture.

Panel 4: In order to protest what he sees as a problem, Lawrence says that he's keeping his maiden name.

Summary: Even though it's highly likely that Aaron grew up thinking Rod was his dad and didn't learn about Doug until later on, I should think that we'd get notes about how Rod 'took on' the 'burden' that is Aaron and how life would have gone if the boy had not let Rod adopt him.
