Christmas Eve 2015

Elly's attempt to tell Lizzie that Santa won't come until she's sleeping collides with the fact that the child is easily awakened by noise.

(Strip Number 1238, Original Publication Date, 24 December 1986)

Panel 1: It's bedtime and Christmas Eve at the Patterson house. As Elly puts Elizabeth and Bunny to sleep, she says that Santa won't come until she is sound asleep.

Panel 2: As she tries to sleep, she hears what we know to be John and Elly putting the stuff under the tree.

Panel 3: Since she doesn't know what the sounds are, she asks them how can she get sound asleep with all of those sounds.

Summary: You can see her problem. She thinks that if she can't sleep, no presents.
