As Elly declares Mission Accomplished on Christmas, John is left struggling with the Yuletide bills.

Panel 1: As she admires the decorations, Elly thought-bubbles that everything is all ready for Christmas. (In the original, she delights in the fact that Christmas is all over for another year.)

Panel 2: She then muses that all that remains is to enjoy the giving season. (In the original, she muses that there's nothing left of the holiday but the aftermath.)

Panel 3: We switch focus to Rage Face John who's sitting at the kitchen table going through the credit card and bank statements to show us the aftermath...the massive Yuletide debt. They have what Lynn assumes is a huge amount for credit card bills and a low amount for a bank balance.

Summary: We get it, Lynn. Children are too greedy and want to bankrupt their parents. Also, failing to adjust things for inflation makes the Pattersons look even worse at handling money.
