Panel 1: After dinner, Phil tells Elly that he wants to have a heart-to-heart talk about a subject that means something to him.
Panel 2: He goes on to say that he and Georgia have been living together for a while and wonders if things would change if they were....they were...
Panel 3: As he struggles to complete his sentence, Elly (who clearly seems to be assuming the worst) tells him to just say it already.
Panel 4: When he timidly squeaks out the word 'married', she's gobsmacked because she probably expected to have to give him the "don't let a good thing slip away" speech.
Summary: We can probably look forward to her crowing about waiting until after Alan and Joan got married to do this. What we can't expect is an admission that she's a really bad advertisement for matrimony.
