Elly doesn't know which proverb to follow when faced with the fact that protesting seems to not be getting results.

(Strip Number 4693, Original Publication Date, 15 October 1986)

Panel 1: An exhausted Elly slumps down in a chair and tells John "I'm not a political activist...why am I doing this?" because she doesn't know why she has to work like a dog to save the theater.

Panel 2: John suggests she go back to writing letters to the editor because 'they' say the pen is mightier than the sword.

Panel 3: Elly reminds him that 'they' also say actions speak louder than words.

Panel 4: She then says that she has trouble deciding which 'they' to listen to.

Summary: We find out which "they" is listened to next week when she steals Mike's idea and passes it off as her own.
