(Strip Number 1092, Original Publication Date, 6 October 1986)
Panel 1: John examines the houseplants and points out that they're withering away to nothing because they have been neglected for too long.
Panel 2: Elly keeps forgetting to water them because she's been busy of late having a life that doesn't involve chaining herself to her house.
Panel 3: He ignores this so he can rant about how some need replanting because they are all dying.
Panel 4: Elly winces when John angrily accuses her of plant abuse.
Summary: This, I think, is symptomatic of a larger problem he has: expecting Elly to do all the domestic stuff when he's got two functioning hands at the ends of functioning arms as well as two children who don't seem to do much at home because they seem to be encouraged to wander around outside like lost souls.
