Elly feels guilty if she stays home while other people make a difference while also feeling guility because she leaves her clingy, needy, stupid family in the lurch.

(Strip Number 4683, Original Publication Date, 25 September 1986)

Panel 1: We find Elly sitting in her chair as she struggles with guilt about the stupid, short-sighted thing entitled dimwit Mike said.

Panel 2: She reminds herself that if she stays home, she feels guilty for not doing something constructive with her life that makes her feel as if she's actually accomplishing things.

Panel 3: If she's out, she feels guilty for not being home to provide emotional support for ungrateful idiots who will never acknowledge her or what she does.

Panel 4: She envies the turtle, who has the best of both worlds.

Summary: This seems to be a more generalized "Selfish family, stop being selfish and let me LIVE" thing than yesterday's Aaron-targeted "For some reason, grabbing a child by the shoulders, shaking him violently and calling him a selfish, ungrateful monster who needs to apologize forever for being greedy and needy and BAD is looked down upon so here's a strip that defames you in front of the English-speaking world" thing.
