We end the week with John wailing about what a fool he was for not listening to Elly. Five'll getcha ten that today's notes will be all about how cruel, selfish and blind Rod was for saying the cruel, evil and selfish words "Give it a rest already."

(Strip Number 1068, Original Publication Date, 1 August 1986)

Panel 1: As they start their first night on Unnecessary Hardship Island, Phil tells John that they'll have to take turns sitting next to the fire and pack hot rocks next to themselves to keep warm.

Panel 2: As they huddle around the fire like cavemen, Phil can't believe he talked himself and John into dumping the canoe and supplies. He then sets up the punchline by saying that it happened too fast to think.

Panel 3: John tells him that they wouldn't have been out there in the first place if they'd have been thinking.

Summary: Lynn clearly wants Rod to admit that if he'd have thought things through at all, he'd never have gone to Certain Death Lake in the Land Of Eternal Cold and Death. Too bad that she used a strip that had the message "If I'd have been thinking, I wouldn't have gone canoeing with Elly's imbecile kid brother."
