(Strip Number 4654, Original Publication Date, 19 July 1986)
Panel 1: We switch back to the Pattermanse to find Elly in bed thought-bubbling about how now that John's away, she gets the bed to herself.
Panel 2: There's no one to snore in her ear and no one to swipe the blankets away and leave her shivering.
Panel 3: She tosses and turns in discomfort.
Panel 4: That's because she also realized that there's no one to curl up to.
Summary: This is Elly's dilemma, I should think; she can't stand the tiny little things people do to bother her but she also can't not be around them because she needs to be needed. Also, I think that we've finally seen what's eating Lynn about this whole deal. Simply put, she thought Rod was trying to kill himself so she'd be alone in a town filled full of people who love adultery and hate her.
