We begin the week with Elly unwittingly sabotaging her campaign to make Mike want to help out by pitching housework as punishment for oppressing her with his presence.

(Strip Number 1050, Original Publication Date, 12 May 1985)

Panel 1: We start things off with Elly ticka-tacka-tappaing away at her poem "The Needy Child, The Greedy Child, The Disappointing Child" only to have the titular Ungrateful Wretch oppress her with his presence. When she tells him to go outside because she's busy, he refuses.

Panel 2: She tells him he has a choice: he can either go outside or he can do chores around the house.

Panel 3: She smiles when Michael says that's not a choice, it's a sentence!

Summary: And now we see why Mike doesn't like doing stuff for her: she's just punished him for wanting to be in her august presence and thus drawing her out of the beloved state in which she doesn't notice anything going on around her.
