Today's strip has Mike learn to game the system so he can do what he wants.

Panel 1: As Elly prepares supper, John listens to what they both think is Mike practicing the trumpet.
Panel 2: John observes that he's heard Michael play the same piece over six times.
Panel 3: Elly tells him that she thinks Michael is finally taking the trumpet seriously.
Panel 4: We switch focus to reveal that Mike is actually playing back a recording and reading comic books.
Summary: I should expect a dig at Aaron for not taking something as seriously as Lynn did. It was fine for her to slack off like this when she was a kid but for him to do that to her was just gross.
